Dr. Khaled Ahmed Mohamed Yassen earned his MBBCh from the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University, Egypt, in November 1984. He further pursued his education with a Master’s degree (MSc) in Anaesthesia from Alexandria University in 1989. He obtained a UK Diploma in Anaesthesia in 1992 and completed his MD in Anaesthesia at Ain Shams University, Cairo, in 1994, which included joint research at St. James’s University Hospital, Liver Transplant Anaesthesia Unit, in Leeds, UK. Dr. Yassen also holds the prestigious FFARCSI from Dublin, Ireland, earned in 1997.

Dr. Yassen has extensive experience in the field of anaesthesia, serving as an Anaesthesia Consultant at King Fahad National Guard Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 2001 to 2007. He was instrumental in the initial liver transplantation efforts in Saudi Arabia, contributing to both orthotopic and live donor liver transplants. After returning to Egypt, he became a Professor of Anaesthesia at the Liver Institute, Menoufia University, where he later took on the role of Head of the Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Department and the Liver Transplant Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Team.
