Dr. Nfor Oma Nkeh has a robust academic foundation in physics. He earned his Ph.D. in Theoretical Biophysics from the University of Buea in 2018, with a thesis titled Dynamics of Soliton-Like Modes on Neural Networks, under the guidance of Prof. F. M. Moukam Kakmeni. Prior to this, he completed an M.Sc. (Honours) in Nonlinear Physics at the same institution in 2010, focusing on Soliton Train in Bose-Einstein Condensate with Periodic Potentials. Dr. Nkeh began his academic journey with a B.Sc. (Honours) in Physics from the University of Buea in 2004, showcasing early promise in theoretical and applied physics under the mentorship of Prof. A. M. Dikande. This comprehensive educational background has been instrumental in shaping his expertise in advanced physical sciences.
Work Experience ๐ผ:
Dr. Nfor Oma Nkeh has a rich and varied work experience spanning over two decades in physics education and research. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics at the Higher Teacher Training College, University of Bamenda, where he has also served as an Assistant Lecturer and Instructor since 2017. His teaching portfolio includes part-time lectureships in Biophysics at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Bamenda, and instruction in Waves and Optics at the Regional Training Center of Posts and Telecommunications, Buea. Dr. Nkeh has also taught high school physics at Government Bilingual High School, Nkambe, and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Buea. Additionally, he has been a GCE Advanced Level Physics Examiner since 2010 and has played a significant role in various administrative capacities, including departmental secondment and serving as the focal point for the Cameroon Physical Society at the University of Bamenda. His extensive experience highlights his dedication to education, research, and academic leadership in the field of physics.

He is a reviewer for esteemed journals, including Chaos, Solitons & Fractals (Elsevier) and Chaos (AIP Publishing), showcasing his expertise in nonlinear physics and related fields. As a regular member of the American Physical Society (APS), Dr. Nkeh actively contributes to advancing physical sciences. He also serves as a member of the Cameroon Physical Society (CPS) and the Commission IV of the CCIU, focusing on physical sciences, astronomy, spatial physics, and geophysics. His dedication to research and academic excellence is further reflected in his administrative and developmental roles within professional and community organizations.

Dr. Nfor Oma Nkeh focuses his research on diverse and interdisciplinary areas within physics, particularly emphasizing theoretical and applied aspects. His primary interests include Theoretical Biophysics, where he investigates nonlinear excitations in neural networks, DNA systems, and protein chains. He is also deeply engaged in studying Solitary Waves in optical fiber systems, atomic chains, and electrical transmission lines, with applications in modern communication and signal processing. Furthermore, Dr. Nkeh explores Solid Earth Geophysics, contributing to the understanding of dynamic processes within the Earth’s crust. His research reflects a strong commitment to advancing knowledge at the intersection of physics, biology, and geophysics.
