š Education
Dr. Rani earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from Yogi Vemana University, India, in 2019. Her research focused on the isolation and characterization of bacteriophages against multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria, aiming to explore biological control mechanisms. She also holds a Masterās degree in Virology and a Bachelorās degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Chemistry, both from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi.
š¢ Work Experience
Dr. Rani is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Brane Enterprises Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad, India, leading projects on the 3D representation of the human brain and microbial genomics within the Human Genome Project. Previously, she served as a Post-Doctoral Scientist at the Korean National University of Transportation and managed molecular diagnostics at the State COVID Hospital in India, where she oversaw over 15 million RT-PCR tests. She also has experience teaching microbiology at various universities and worked in molecular microbiology research labs.
š§¬ Skills
Dr. Rani has extensive skills in molecular microbiology, including antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, bacteriophage therapy, biofilm disruption, microbial ecology, and gene cloning. She is proficient in advanced microbiological techniques such as RT-PCR, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), ELISA, and Western blotting. Additionally, she has hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools, statistical analysis (GraphPad Prism), and data visualization.
š Awards and Honors
Throughout her career, Dr. Rani has been recognized for her outstanding contributions. She was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the prestigious Best Employee Award in 2021 for her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
š Teaching Experience
With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Rani has mentored both undergraduate and graduate students in microbiology and biotechnology. She has also supervised large teams in laboratory settings, particularly during the pandemic, leading over 50 personnel in molecular diagnostics and research.
š¬ Research Focus
Her research centers on antibiotic resistance, microbial biofilms, phage therapy, and CRISPR-Cas applications in microbiology. She is particularly interested in microbial symbiosis, the role of microbiomes in health and disease, and the environmental applications of microbial communities in sustainable practices.
