Assist. Prof. Dr. Sagar K.G. is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Assist. Prof. Dr. Sagar K.G. holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from VTU Belagavi, awarded in 2022. His doctoral research focused on the “Study on Mechanical and Wear Characterization of Particulate Reinforced Aluminum Alloy Subjected to Severe Plastic Deformation.” Prior to his Ph.D., he completed his M-Tech in Machine Design from Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT), Bengaluru, in 2011, achieving First Class. His M-Tech thesis was titled “Numerical Simulation of Powder Compaction Processes Considering Material and Geometrical Nonlinearity.” Dr. Sagar earned his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from SJMIT College of Engineering, Chitradurga, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, in 2007. His undergraduate project was on Engine Management Systems. Additionally, Dr. Sagar has pursued several professional courses, including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, NDT Level II in Penetrant Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing, and is currently learning Data Science and Data Analytics from Excel R, further enhancing his knowledge and skills in emerging technologies.

Work Experience 💼:

Assist. Prof. Dr. Sagar K.G. has over a decade of experience in academia, specializing in Mechanical Engineering. He has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bangalore, since July 2015. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Sambhram Institute of Technology (SaIT), Bengaluru, from August 2013 to July 2015. Throughout his career, Dr. Sagar has been actively involved in teaching a wide range of undergraduate courses, including Mechanics of Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Finite Element Methods, Design of Machine Elements, and Mechanical Vibrations. His expertise extends to guiding undergraduate and M-Tech students, with 24 batches of B.E. students and 4 batches of M-Tech students under his mentorship. Dr. Sagar has also contributed to the development of several student projects, including innovative designs such as the Go-Kart, Hovercraft, and 3D-Printing Chocolate Printing Machine, showcasing his hands-on approach to teaching and research. He has been instrumental in enhancing the learning experience for students through his active involvement in conferences, workshops, and faculty development programs.
