Research Projects:

  • Dr. Dramit K. Vashishtha has led and contributed to several impactful research projects. As Co-PI, he worked on “Protein engineering of metagenome derived phytases for nutritional quality in staple crops” with DST, Haryana. He secured a grant for Honey Bee Farming at SRM University 🐝 and conducted an ethnobotanical study on Ganga river floral diversity 🌸. He established Vermi-Composting and Mushroom Cultivation units at MM University 🌱🍄. His research includes genetic diversity and bioremediation studies at NIIT University, and high-value nutraceuticals from lactic acid bacteria at Thapar University 🧬. His Ph.D. focused on molecular markers for high phytase levels in wheat 🌾.

🔬 Research Focus:

Dr. Dramit K. Vashishtha focuses on biotechnology and agricultural sciences, particularly enhancing nutritional quality and environmental sustainability. His research includes protein engineering of phytases for improving staple crops 🌱, genetic diversity studies for bioremediation of contaminated sites 🌍, and high-value nutraceuticals from lactic acid bacteria 🦠. He also explores ethnobotanical uses of floral diversity near the Ganga river 🌸 and sustainable agricultural practices like vermi-composting and mushroom cultivation 🍄. His work integrates molecular biology, environmental science, and agricultural biotechnology to address global food security and environmental challenges.
