Dr. Patelarou has an extensive academic background. She completed her RN in Nursing at the University of Athens in 2004, followed by a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Crete in 2007. She earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of Athens in 2009 with groundbreaking research on water disinfection by-products and pregnancy outcomes. Additionally, she obtained an MD from the University of Crete in 2012 and certifications in higher education pedagogy (PGCAPHE) from King’s College London. Her education reflects a multidisciplinary approach, combining nursing, public health, and medicine.
Work Experience 💼:
Dr. Patelarou’s career spans academic, clinical, and research roles. She has served as a Professor at the Hellenic Mediterranean University since 2020 and was an Associate Professor at the Technological Institute of Crete (2015–2020). She also held a Lecturer position at King’s College London, focusing on nursing and midwifery. As a Research Scientist at the University of Crete and the Center for Research in Environmental Epidemiology in Spain, she contributed to impactful studies in epidemiology and maternal health.
