Dr. Bipul Bezbaruah is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of chemistry. He holds a B.Sc. with honors in Chemistry (2003), an M.Sc. specializing in Physical Chemistry (2005), and a Ph.D. in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry (2011), all from Gauhati University. His qualifications also include clearing the CSIR-JRF in 2008 and the GATE in 2007. Dr. Bezbaruah has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Sciences at Gauhati University since May 16, 2011, after serving as a contractual Lecturer in Chemistry from February 2010 to May 2011. His research focuses on the quantum mechanical study of non-covalent interactions, π-π stacking interactions in organic biomolecules, the mechanisms of binding between anticancer agents and DNA nucleobases, and molecular docking and force field studies of DNA and protein-binding drugs.

Education

Dr. Bipul Bezbaruah has a strong academic background in chemistry, beginning with his B.Sc. in 2003, where he graduated with honors in Chemistry from Gauhati University. He continued his studies at the same university, earning an M.Sc. in 2005 with a specialization in Physical Chemistry. Dr. Bezbaruah further advanced his expertise by completing a Ph.D. in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at Gauhati University in 2011. In addition to his academic degrees, he has also qualified for the CSIR-JRF in 2008 and the GATE in 2007, showcasing his commitment to research and professional development in the field of chemistry.

Teaching Experience:

Dr. Bipul Bezbaruah is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Sciences at Gauhati University, a position he has held since May 16, 2011. Prior to this, he was a Lecturer in Chemistry on a contractual basis in the same department, formerly known as the Department of Chemical Science, from February 2010 to May 2011. His extensive teaching experience reflects his dedication to educating and mentoring students in the field of chemistry.

Dr. Bipul Bezbaruah’s research interests are centered around the quantum mechanical study of non-covalent interactions, with a particular focus on π-π stacking interactions in organic biomolecules. He is deeply involved in exploring the mechanisms of binding between anticancer agents and DNA nucleobases. Additionally, Dr. Bezbaruah conducts extensive research in molecular docking and force field studies of DNA and protein-binding drugs, contributing significantly to the understanding of these complex biochemical interactions.
